6. Are there any current plans to acquire more 3 bedroom properties via buying property in the area
There are no strategic plans to purchase 3 bedroom properties as most affordable housing is secured via developer contributions on development sites, however the Council does on occasion purchase ad hoc properties on the open market to go into its own housing stock. This is normally done to replenish homes which have been purchased by a tenant through “Right to Buy”.

7. Have all current property developments in the wokingham borough allocated any 3 bedroom houses and if so how many developments have have allocated 3 bed room properties and how many properties have been allocated. — if not, with the knowledge of several housing developments around the borough how many allocations are you expecting
There are a number of sites across the Borough which are due to complete affordable homes this year and next, some of which will provide 3 bedroom homes and those appropriated for social rent will be allocated via the Council’s Housing Register. Information is provided to us by Registered Providers - we do not have a complete full picture of all the different sizes of properties coming forward, however the programme does include 3 bedroom houses for social rent.

8. What is Wokingham councils future plans to acquire larger sized houses (3 bedroom+)
The majority of affordable housing in the Borough is secured via developer contributions on each development site. Whilst each development site is negotiated on a site by site basis (depending on what the overall mix of the properties are), as a guide (and especially on larger sites which have a range of different house sizes) we ask for the following affordable housing mix:

20% 1 bedroom flats
15% 2 bedroom flats
30% 2 bedroom houses
20% 3 bedroom houses
15% 4 bedroom houses

9. Will WBC put in to place any plans to encourage developments to provide more social housing for bigger homes i.e 3 bedrooms plus
Please see answer to question 8.

10. How many 3 bedroom properties have been allocated to applicants this year
