1. Could you please provide the council’s agreed interpretation of their responsibility under the highways act 1980 in respect of what minimum heights tree growth needs to be maintained no lower than:
a) Above a Highway, including any variation based on whether it is a bus route: 5.1m
b) Above a pavement with permitted cycle use: 2.4m
c) Above a pavement without permitted cycle use: 2.1m

2. Could also confirm in respect of the above act / responsibility the council’s approach is to clearance of growth around streetlights, permanent road traffic signals and council road signs?
Routine safety inspection are carried out on the highway for any dangerous defects, which are then rectified in accordance with the WHIP (Wokingham Highway Inspection Policy).

3. Does the council’s responsibilities/ assessment differ for trees vs bushes / non-tree vegetation in respect to the above?
The heights are for vegetation.
