I am seeking information concerning the intended allocation and use of homes within the Gorse Ride Estate regeneration in Finchampstead, particularly Phase 2b (Orbit Close, part of Billing Avenue and part of Whittle Close), associated with planning application 222001.
I understand from the council’s published information that Phase 2b comprises 90 homes and that the wider regeneration includes social rented, shared ownership and outright-sale properties.

Please provide:
1. The current tenure breakdown for the 90 Phase 2b homes, showing the number intended for social rent, affordable rent (if applicable), shared ownership and outright sale.

2. Of the rented homes, how many will be allocated through Wokingham Borough Council’s normal housing allocation process?

3. Have any homes in Phase 2b, or any other phase of the Gorse Ride regeneration, been earmarked, reserved, considered or requested for accommodation of asylum seekers on behalf of the Home Office or one of its accommodation providers?

4. Have any homes been earmarked, reserved or specifically allocated for people who have recently been granted refugee status or leave to remain following an asylum claim, outside the council’s normal housing allocation process?

5. Since 1 January 2024, has Wokingham Borough Council received any request, proposal or approach from the Home Office, Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government, Clearsprings Ready Homes, Serco, Mears, or another government contractor concerning the use of Gorse Ride properties for asylum or refugee accommodation?

6. If so, please provide copies of correspondence, meeting minutes, briefing papers or agreements concerning such a proposal, with personal data redacted where necessary.

7. Has any funding been received, offered or applied for which is conditional upon any Gorse Ride properties being used to accommodate asylum seekers or people leaving asylum accommodation?

8. If the answer to questions 3, 4, 5 and 7 is no, please confirm that no such arrangement or proposal currently exists.

9. In relation to homes already completed and occupied as part of the wider Gorse Ride Estate regeneration, please provide:
a) The number of properties, if any, that have been allocated to or used to accommodate asylum seekers;
b) The number of properties, if any, that have been allocated to people who have been granted refugee status or leave to remain following an asylum claim;
c) Whether any such allocations were made through the council’s normal housing allocation policy, or through a separate scheme, agreement, nomination arrangement or request involving the Home Office, central government or another organisation;
d) Whether any properties have been used as temporary accommodation for individuals or households leaving asylum accommodation, including hotels;
e) Whether the council has received any specific central-government funding associated with housing any of the above groups within the Gorse Ride regeneration.

For the avoidance of doubt, I am not requesting personal information, names, nationalities, addresses or information that could identify individual residents. I am seeking only aggregate numbers and information about the council’s allocation policies and any relevant arrangements with central government or third parties.
