This is a formal request for information under the Freedom of Information Act 2000. I request that you provide the following data concerning the nationality of teachers employed in state-funded schools in England (including maintained schools and academies).

1. Please provide the total headcount of teachers in state-funded schools in your area for the Academic Year 2018/2019 or Calendar Year 2019, broken down by the teacher’s nationality group (UK citizen, Non-UK citizen, or however your council records this). Please breakdown by state-funded primary, state-funded nursery, state-funded secondary and state-funded special or PRU. Please also provide the total headcount for comparison.

2. Please provide the total headcount of teachers in state-funded schools in your area for the Academic Year 2024/2025 or Calendar Year 2025, broken down by the teacher’s nationality group . Please breakdown by state-funded primary, state-funded nursery, state-funded secondary and state-funded special or PRU. Please also provide the total headcount for comparison.

3. For the 2024/25 Academic Year or Calendar Year 2025, please break these down by individual nationality, for example Irish, Nigerian etc.

Wokingham Borough Council do not hold this information centrally. Each school holds it own employee records and should be able to provide this information.
