I am conducting research into equine based alternative learning provisions. I am interested to understand the experiences of children and young people who attend an equine based provision either full time, part time or as part of an intervention. The research hopes to understand what it is like to learn in this way and may offer comparisons to traditional mainstream educational experiences.

Attendance at an equine based alternative learning provision may include:
• An equine based learning programme (such as, the British Horse Society Changing Lives through horses, Riding for the Disabled, Elective home education programmes)
• A structured intervention programme using horses
• Currently attend an equine based apprenticeship
• Attending an alternative provision (AP) which is equine based
Attendance at these can either be, full time as an alternative to, or in addition to mainstream education.
