I am requesting the following information under the Freedom of Information Act. It covers both the council’s housing and education functions and may need liaising between the two departments. In this request, “children” refers to those aged 0-18, rather than the whole age range covered by Education, Health and Care Plans. This is to try and keep the request aligned with housing department record-keeping.

1. Please state the number of children currently living in households housed in temporary accommodation outside your local authority area

2. Of the figure in question 1, please state the number of children who are in receipt of an Education, Health and Care Plan (ECHP) from your local authority

3. Of the figure in question 2, please list the local authorities in which they are temporarily housed, and how many are housed in each local authority

4. Of the figure in question 2, please state the number of children who attend school within your local authority area (rather than in the local authority where they have been temporarily housed)

5. Of the figure in question 4, please state the number of children who receive home to school transport funded by your local authority

6. Of the figure in question 3, please state the number of children housed in each recipient local authority area who attend school within your local authority area (rather than in the local authority where they have been temporarily housed)

7. Of the figure in question 6, please state the number of children in each recipient local authority who receive home to school transport funded by your local authority

Questions 4 and 5 combine all children with ECHPs in out-of-area temporary accommodation, whereas questions 6 and 7 break these figures down by “recipient” local authority.
