I would like to request the following information:

1. Number of hours of EHCP OT provision commissioned annually
The Council commission a Provider to deliver a Children and Young People Integrated Therapies contract to provide Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy and Speech and Language Therapy (SALT) for Children and Young People where therapy is named in Section F of their EHCP. The Provider of this contract is Berkshire Healthcare Foundation Trust and it expires on 31st March 2023. This is a block contract costing approximately £402,000 per annum.
There will be a new contract in place from 1st April 2023 – details at this time cannot be shared as the Council are still involved in the procurement process.

2. Number of hours of EHCP OT provision that is unfulfilled at this current moment

The block contract referred to in Q1 is commissioned to deliver the full annual requirement for school age pupils. Some circumstance may dictate that OT is commissioned from independent providers outside of that contract, but that is infrequent.

5. If you commission an independent provider to deliver the OT element of EHCPS’ on your behalf, please can you advise what commissioning mechanism you use:

The current contract is due to expire in March 2023. To commission a new Provider the council advertised the opportunity to the open market, any providers who met the criteria could bid for this contract.
