I have detailed the request below, which relates to the number of applications for planning permission for the installation of dropped kerbs in driveways in recent years.
1. In the past three years (2018/19 - 2020/21), please state the total number of planning applications received by your council relating to dropped kerbs.
2. Over the same timeframe, please state the total number of these applications that were approved.
3. Over the past three years, how many investigations have you made into driveway developments that had not been granted planning permission?
4. Over the past three years, how many investigations have you made into dropped kerb developments that had not been granted planning permission?
The Council are unable to report on this information with the appropriate timeframe of 18 hours so are applying Section 12. We record the number of householder planning applications (circa 2000 per year), however, we do not break the planning applications down into specific type of householder development. Whilst we can tell you exactly how many householder applications per year, unless someone looks through each one, (they are all on the web site) we are unable to say how many were for conservatories, or how many were for dormers, or how many were for outbuildings, or how many were for dropped kerbs, etc.
We get 700 requests for service/investigations into unauthorised development each year. We have produce the attached sheet which would help if an individual wished to go through the publicly accessible applications on the website to collate the information themselves.
