There have been a number of accusations on Facebook concerning the poor quality and maintenance of cycle paths in the area.

1. As a Freedom of Information request can you please let me know for the last 12 months what complaints have been made about cycle paths in the Borough and what has been done to remedy the situation?

Please see the attached Excel file, which contains details of customer fault reports logged from 16th September 2021 to 16th September 2022 relating to cycle infrastructure in Wokingham Borough. Outcomes of the fault reports are also supplied. The fault reports were logged via the Wokingham “Report a problem with roads and streets” facility on the Wokingham Borough website, which is the principal means for residents to report problems with the highway (Report a problem with roads and streets - Wokingham Borough Council). Please note that cycle paths, cycle lanes and other cycling infrastructure are not classified separately in our records, so we cannot guarantee full accuracy. In addition, some non-highway cycle infrastructure, such as public rights of way and private paths on recent residential developments, may be included.
In addition, emails received by Wokingham Borough Highways over the same period, relating to cycle infrastructure, are provided in the attached zip folders in the form of PDF files. The emails have been redacted to remove residents’ personal details.
