Under the Freedom of Information Act, I am writing to request the following information:

1. In your local education authority area, what is the total number of children of compulsory school age who are both not registered pupils at a school and not receiving suitable education otherwise than at a school (children missing education), as at 1 May 2021?

2. In your local education authority area, what was the total number of children of compulsory school age who were both not registered pupils at a school and not receiving suitable education otherwise than at a school (children missing education), as at 1 September 2020?

3. In your local education authority area, what was the total number of children of compulsory school age who were both not registered pupils at a school and not receiving suitable education otherwise than at a school (children missing education), as at 1 September 2019?
Fifteen.

4. In your local education authority area, how many children of compulsory school age have been removed from the school roll for the prescribed ground under Section 8(1)(d) of the Education (Pupil Registration) (England) Regulations 2006, namely: "The parent(s) have elected to home-educate (EHE)", since 1 September 2020? Of these children, please also indicate how many were removed from the school roll of;
a) a state school: 108
b) an independent school: 3
