1. I would like to know the required format for an invoice sent by a childcare provider to a parent. Please let me know how the following information should be displayed: government funding, voluntary contributions, extras and meals.
These is no required format. The regulations state that providers must be clear in their invoices what the parents are paying for. This means that it should show that the free entitlement hours are being received for free and that anything else that is paid for is clear and transparent.

Our provider agreement, which is based on the government’s model agreement states:

Providers should ensure their invoices and receipts are clear, transparent and itemized, allowing parents to see that they have received their free entitlement completely free of charge and understand fees paid for additional hours. Providers should also ensure that receipts contain their full details so that they can be identified as coming from a specific provider.

Any parent that feels as though they are not receiving the entitlement correctly are encouraged to contact earlyyears@wokingham.gov.uk so we can look into the specific case and take action/provide support if required.
