Please provide:

1. Details of the CCTV cameras being installed in Crockhamwell Road car park Woodley in particular the reasons given for its installation.
The implementation of CCTV in car parks forms part of the Council’s Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) Strategy and is one element of the Congestion Management Plan. No consultation was undertaken on this element of the Strategy, but a number of presentations to elected members have been made during the implementation of the Strategy. No public consultation was undertaken.

2. Details of the costs and who made this decision.
The costs for installation in the Woodley car parks is £56,296.65. Approval for the expenditure on the Congestion Project was approved by full Council through the Medium Term Financial Plan in February 2020.

The description of the project in the MTFP is as follows - This project aims to create improvement to traffic flow throughout the borough with a number of approaches based around the principles of: Prevent - reducing the likelihood of incidents on the network causing problems for congestion including use of CCTV.
