We are looking to obtain an indication of the standard local authority fees Wokingham Borough Council pays for eligible elderly people in care homes or, if no standard flat rate is paid, an indication of the minimum/maximum/average rates paid for each category of care listed below. This is normally information that the local Commissioning Team or Adult Social Care Finance Team are able to supply.

(Please could you also state if your quoted nursing fees are inclusive or exclusive of the current NHS-funded nursing care (FNC) contribution.)

1. 2021/22 financial year rates:
a) Personal care / residential, elderly frail
b) Personal care / residential, elderly dementia
c) Nursing, elderly frail
d) Nursing, elderly dementia

We do not operate a base or fixed fee rate but work closely with care homes and place following an assessment of needs at market rates determined at time of placement. All rates would be exclusive of FNC. Rates for care home fees and home care have been against best practice for a number of years.
