In accordance with the Freedom of Information Act, I would be grateful if you could provide me with the following information:
1. How many streetlights have been reported as faulty?
a) 2020: 1338
b) 2021: 1207
c) 2022: 1149
This includes not only street lights but other highway electrical items such as illuminated signs, illuminated bollards, CCTV cameras, zebra crossing beacons, feeder pillars etc as these cannot be easily separated out without looking at each job individually. It also includes works that might not be considered a “fault” such as numbering columns, planned modifications, recabling etc
2. What is the average amount of time taken between the reporting of a fault with a streetlight and its resolution?
a) 2020: 52
b) 2021: 52
c) 2022: 45
Where works area currently still outstanding these have been calculated based on a completion date of 16/02/2023
3. What is the longest delay between the reporting of a streetlight problem and its resolution?
a) 2020: 1063
b) 2021: 748
c) 2022: 408
All years contain works which are currently outstanding so for any outstanding works these have been calculated based on a completion date of 16/02/2023
4. What is the most recent estimate of the number of streetlights in your area that are currently not functioning or partly functioning?
