I'm writing to make a freedom of information request under the Freedom of Information Act 2000.
1. Please could you provide me with any data and documentation the council holds relating to Hong Kongers gaining (or attempting to gain) residency in your council's jurisdiction under the BNO visa resettlement scheme. This includes:
• Any preparatory reports, policy/project proposals, impact assessments, and similar or related documentation that the council has prepared or commissioned relating to the scheme. If the council has not discussed, commissioned or prepared any documentation related to this scheme, please let me know.
• Minutes (and links to recordings, if they're available online) of any council or committee meetings during which this scheme was discussed.
• Figures regarding how many Hong Kongers have moved to live within your council's jurisdiction in the past 12 months (broken down by calendar month if possible), and how many are expected to try and obtain residency within your council's jurisdiction in the next 12 months.
I understand that not all of this data may be available to you: please just provide what you can, and let me know what you can't, with a brief explanation.
This matter has not been discussed at any Council or formal Committee meeting.
We have checked all of our records and can confirm that we have not had Housing Register applications nor any homelessness presentations from any Hong Kongers made within the last 12 months; and we have had no initial enquiries. It is hard to predict whether we will get any presentations within the next 12 months so we are unable to comment further on this.
