Can I ask about the road which I think is called Bailey Mews, located at SU 72985 67316.

1. Is this road currently a public road? If not, was it a public road in the past?
2. Does the council control the speed limit for this road?
3. I recall that the speed limit for this road has been 15mph for several decades - long before the construction of Appleton Way shortened the road. Is there any record of why 15mph was chosen as the limit?

Based on the description and grid reference SU 72985 67316, the enquiry appears to relate to the access road to High Copse Farm and Cottages, which has been partly superseded by the construction of Appleton Way. The land is private and Wokingham Borough Council has no record of a speed limit for the access road, which may be a private arrangement. Although the access road is not adopted (public) highway, the section that runs east-west is a public right of way (footpath).
