I am writing to you under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 to request the following information from the Director of Public Health. Please may you provide me with:

1. Can the Local Authority's Director of Public Health provide an estimate for the number of referrals made to alcohol treatment services in your local authority area for the following financial years?
a) 2018/19: Not available
b) 2019/20: Not available
c) 2020/21: Not available
d) 2021/22: 553
The current service was commissioned and commenced on the 1st April 2021. The previous service was commissioned with SMART CJS and data on referrals will be held by the provider and therefore not available from the Local Authority.

2. Can the Local Authority's Director of Public Health provide the outturn data for budget spent on alcohol treatment services in your local authority area for the following financial years?
a) 2018/19: £489,497
b) 2019/20: £491,157
c) 2020/21: £491,157
d) 2021/22: £641,854
The service is a fully integrated substance misuse service and therefore the budget allocated includes both Alcohol and Drugs and the individual split cannot be provided. I have therefore provided the complete budget for drugs and alcohol for each year

The budget provided for Public Health services is determined by the grant provided by Central Government. Currently the agreed contract value is provided (this is for both drugs and alcohol combined), however this does not include any additional funding provided as a result of the Dame Carol Black review and subsequent 10-year Harm to Hope Strategy.
