Council Tax - Payment Methods
Pay by Direct Debit
You can pay on the 1st, 10th, or 20th of the month.
You can also complete and return the Direct Debit mandate form (PDF document).
To set up a Direct Debit, follow the 'Set up a Direct Debit' link below which will direct you to our Council Tax and Benefits portal homepage. From there, select ‘Make a payment or set up a Direct Debit’ to continue.
Make a one-off online payment
Pay your Council Tax online using the below link. Have your Council Tax account number to hand. Credit and debit cards are accepted.

Telephone - 24 hour payment line:
- Call 0300 456 0505 - have your debit or credit card details, Council Tax account number and how much you want to pay to hand
Bank transfer
Quote your 8 digit account number only (with no additional text), and use the following bank details:
- Sort code: 57-93-64
- Account number: 04579364
Post office
Take your Council Tax bill with the barcode on the back to make a payment.
12 monthly instalments
You can spread your Council Tax payments over 12 months to include payments in February and March.
