To further our understanding of the impact of domestic abuse on the youngest children in the care system, we are requesting information on the following:
1. Could you please provide the number of infants aged 0-2 who entered care in the local authority in 2021, 2022, and 2023?
2021: 15

2. How many infants (0-2 years AND unborn babies) were referred to children’s services with domestic abuse identified as:
a) the primary factor, or
b) a contributing factor
in 2021, 2022, and 2023?
The data below reflects where Domestic Abuse is identified as a contributing factor, we are unable to supply accurate information as to whether Domestic Abuse was a primary factor given this harm is often interlinked with other complicating factors
