I am contacting you to inquire about the cemetery booking system that your local authority uses.
1. What is the name of the cemetery booking system that you use? BACAS?
We don’t use a specific cemetery booking system. We use a combination of Excel spreadsheets, statutory paper registers and ESRI for our maps.
2. What are the benefits of the system you use?
If the computer system is inaccessible we can fall back on our paper records.
3. What are the drawbacks, if any, that you have experienced?
Records are not all in one place. Duplication of work as records are updated on computer and registers.
4. Have you ever considered using another system and if so which one?
Yes, Plotbox, BACAS and Epitaph. We were unable to justify the cost of any of these so decided to keep our current set up.
