Under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, I would like to request the following information relating to parking enforcement within your local authority area. Where possible, please provide data for the most recent full financial year available. If this is not available, please provide the most recent 12-month period.
Parking Fines Issued
1. The total number of parking fines (Penalty Charge Notices – PCNs) issued by Road/street name: In the financial year 2025/26 a total of 29,731 PCN’s were issued. See enclosed data.
2. A breakdown of PCNs by type, if available (e.g. on-street, off-street, bus lane, moving traffic offences) Road/street name.
Moving Traffic 4,898 PCN’s issued
Off Street 16,236 PCN’s issued
On Street. 8,597 PCN’s Issued
Revenue Generated
3. The total revenue generated from parking fines: In the financial year 2025/26 a total of £838,321.21 was received from all Paid PCNs
4. The total amount of revenue collected (i.e. paid fines, if different): As above
Appeals & Challenges
5. The total number of parking fines that were formally challenged or appealed: 8,473 PCN’s Challenged or appealed.
6.The number of appeals that were successful (i.e. fines cancelled): 2,969 successfully challenged
7. The number of appeals that were rejected: 5,504 rejected.
