The relevant departments are Cleaner and Greener, Highways and Housing and the relevant period is 1 July 2025 to present.

1. I seek copies of any and all information held (or accessible to the Council through its contractors and/or their subcontractors) in relation to the Borough of Wokingham:
a) formal reports made (i.e. those which have annotated reference no's) citing hedges/trees encroaching onto pavements, and Wokingham's pursuant investigations/ recommendations and/or actions;
Details of public reports of vegetation obstructing roads, pavements and footpaths are provided in the Excel table provided with this response. Public reports were made via the Report a Problem feature of the Wokingham Borough website at: https://www.wokingham.gov.uk/roads/report. Reports are included for the whole of Wokingham Borough from 1 July 2025 to 30 April 2026. Reports have been redacted to remove any personal details.
In addition, details of minor works orders (“Defects”) raised by Wokingham Borough in response to vegetation reports are provided in a separate Excel table. Works orders are included for the whole of Wokingham Borough from 1 July 2025 to 30 April 2026. Works orders have been redacted to remove any personal details. Please note that public reports and works orders cannot be linked to determine the outcome, e.g. several public reports may result in a single works order being raised.

b) formal reports made (i.e. those which have annotated reference no's) citing members of the public tampering with hedges/trees and Wokingham's pursuant investigations/ recommendations and/or actions: It is not possible to identify any reports of the public tampering with vegetation in Wokingham Borough between 1 July 2025 to 30 April 2026.
c) formal reports made (i.e. those which have annotated reference no's) citing inadequate/ poor standards of works carried out by the Council and/or its contractors to hedges/trees and Wokingham's pursuant investigations/ recommendations and/or actions: It is not possible to identify any reports relating to the quality of vegetation works in Wokingham Borough between 1 July 2025 to 30 April 2026.

2. I refer to works carried out to hedges, trees and shrubs on the grass verges which is public land, situated on the corner at the junction of Finchampstead Road and Tangley Drive facing towards Wokingham (i.e adjacent to the boundary of No 2 Tangley Drive). I seek data held (and it should lawfully be held) as to the instructions to carry out the work, the contractor report provided, the approval, inspection and signing off of the works, the identity of the contractor used, and the cost.
Cleaner and Greener do not have records of the hedges or shrubs being cut at this location between 1st July 2025 to present

a) the specific nature of the public interest and the supporting information provided to the report;
b) whether the report was made by an individual, a business, or by person(s) employed by or contracted to Wokingham;
