Social Value Management
See notes
1. Please could you inform me if you have a person responsible for managing social value?
a) If you do, who are they: The Council does not currently have a single, dedicated post solely responsible for managing Social Value across the organisation.
b) If you do not, who is managing your social value: Responsibility for Social Value is shared. Overall policy development and corporate coordination activity sits within the Council’s Policy & Strategy function, with Social Value being applied across services as relevant. In procurement activity, Social Value is considered and managed by the Procurement & Contracts team on a contract by contract basis, working with service areas and Policy & Strategy colleagues as appropriate.
2. Please could you inform me if you are using a social value platform?
a) If you are using a platform, which platform are you using, and when does the current contract come to an end: The Council is not currently using a dedicated third party Social Value measurement or management platform.
b) If you are not, how are you managing your social value: Social Value is managed through existing internal processes. This includes incorporating Social Value requirements within relevant procurement exercises, assessing suppliers’ proposals as part of tender evaluations, and monitoring delivery through contract management arrangements where applicable. Work is underway corporately to develop a more consistent, organisation wide approach to Social Value.
