1. Please treat this as a Freedom of Information/Environmental Information Regulations request. The below question is in relation to climate action for the Council Climate Action Scorecards. I am requesting information about recognised trade unions’ ability to inform and influence the development and delivery of the council’s Climate Action Plan.
If the council doesn’t recognise trade unions, I would like information about the employee forum’s ability to inform and influence the development and delivery of the council’s Climate Action Plan. In particular, please supply me with information relating to the following questions:
a) Does the council have any policies, procedures or agreements in place that enable recognised trade unions or the employee forum to influence the development and delivery of the council’s Climate Action Plan? If so, could you please share details of these policies, procedures or agreements: Yes, the council continually operates a Public Scrutiny Committee specifically on climate emergency, to review the plan and allow for wider comments and suggestions. This process is designed to enable input into the plan from a wide range of sources, including internal employee groups. While the groups can send representatives to the meeting, this process of public scrutiny is designed to allow the information to be available to all parties, including these employee groups, who can then also provide feedback internally to the dedicated inbox and set up further meetings for discussion.
The council also continually operates a recognised, voluntary internal employee group which focuses on climate emergency related issues and allows staff to raise feedback from themselves, their wider team, and other employee groups. Participants of this groups come from a wide range of teams across the council to enable maximum feedback opportunities.
b) Have recognised trade unions or the employee forum contributed to any recent consultations related to the delivery of the council’s Climate Action Plan: There have been suggestions for internal actions, but no feedback specifically on the action plan itself to this date.

2. If so, could you please share any relevant document, dated from 1 January 2024, including:
a) Meeting minutes
b) Reports
c) Invitations to events
d) Other relevant documents
