Mill Lane, Earley, between A329 Wokingham Road and Toseland Way, was part resurfaced and part surface-dressed in Financial Year 2025-26.
Wokingham Borough does not produce or use reports of road surface condition for individual streets, and Wokingham Borough does not possess any photographs of the condition of Mill Lane prior to maintenance works.
In Wokingham Borough, streets are selected for resurfacing or surface treatment based principally on the engineering condition of the road. Measurements of road condition are made by independent specialist contractors, who are accredited to carry out the work. In the case of Mill Lane, Earley, calculations based on survey results suggested that a section of the road was in poor condition and should be resurfaced. Another section of the road, which was calculated to be in somewhat better condition, was chosen for surface treatment to prolong its service life.
