Pothole compensation

For each of the last five years, can you please provide annual totals for the following:
1. The number of pothole compensation claims received
2. The number of pothole compensation claims paid out
3. The amount the council paid out in pothole compensation claims
Please provide this for each of the following financial years (24/25, 23/24, 22/23, 21/22, 20/21):
In the calendar year 2021, 24 claims were notified to the council’s insurance team and/or insurers seeking compensation for injury/damage allegedly caused by potholes. 6 claims were paid, for a total of £13,945.57.
In the calendar year 2022, 32 claims were notified to the council’s insurance team and/or insurers seeking compensation for injury/damage allegedly caused by potholes. 13 claims were paid, for a total of £4,572.12.
In the calendar year 2023, 144 claims were notified to the council’s insurance team and/or insurers seeking compensation for injury/damage allegedly caused by potholes. 50 claims were paid, for a total of £13,849.56.
In the calendar year 2024, 85 claims were notified to the council’s insurance team and/or insurers seeking compensation for injury/damage allegedly caused by potholes. 26 claims were paid, for a total of £12,446.94.
In the calendar year 2025, 68 claims were notified to the council’s insurance team and/or insurers seeking compensation for injury/damage allegedly caused by potholes. 23 claims have been paid, for a total of £6,637.32.
