I am writing to request information under the Freedom of Information Act relating to a road your authority is responsible for maintaining. Specifically, my query relates to Mill Lane in Sindlesham, between Hatch Farm & the bridge over the River Loddon heading towards Early. Please can you send me:

1. A copy of your current road maintenance policy relating to that road. Please send me the full policy, but this should include details of the intended frequency of road safety inspections, how these inspections should be conducted and the maximum time between identification of a defect and repairs being carried out. Please also confirm how often Mill Lane should be inspected as per policy.
Wokingham Borough’s approach to highway inspection and maintenance is publicly available as Volume 2, Highway Network Maintenance, of the Wokingham Highway Maintenance Management Plan (HMMP) here: https://www.wokingham.gov.uk/roads/road-maintenance/highways-maintenance-management-plan. The inspection frequency for MILL LANE, EARLEY (Unique Street Reference Number: 44701043) is 3 monthly for a driven inspection and 6 monthly for a walked inspection. For MILL LANE, SINDLESHAM (USRN: 44701044), the inspection frequency is 3 monthly for a driven inspection. The two road sections 44701043 and 44701044 include the stretch of road indicated in the plan.

2. A copy of the road repair history for that road over the past year. Again, please send me the full road repair history, but this should include:
- dates of all safety inspections between 22/12/2024 & 22/01/2026
- details of how safety inspections were undertaken (walked or driven, speed of inspection vehicle etc)
- details of all carriageway defects identified, with description (inc measurements if provided), date and time & risk/category score.
Reports of the inspection and repair histories for MILL LANE, EARLEY, and MILL LANE, SINDLESHAM, between 22/12/2024 and 22/01/2026, are supplied with this response in the form of Excel files. The reports have been redacted to remove any personal information.
- details of all customer reported defects. If customers reported the same defect multiple times (between 22/06/2025 & 22/01/2026, please include these individual reports.
- details of how the authority handled these defects, what repairs were undertaken and the time between the identification of each defect and a repair being carried out.
Summaries of customer reports between 22/06/2025 and 22/01/2026 for MILL LANE, EARLEY, and MILL LANE, SINDLESHAM, are supplied with this response in the form of Excel files.
