1. Since the Self-build and Custom Housebuilding Act 2015 came in, how many people have been registered on the Self build and Custom register and how many remain on that register? Please provide the figures for the current period and cumulatively.
Since 2015, 645 have been registered on the self build register in total. 113 remained on the register at the end of the Oct 2024 - Oct 25 period (the most recent period), 1 of which is an organisation and the remainder individuals. This means that 532 have been removed from the list – unfortunately I do not have a breakdown of when and why they were removed, the data does not seem to have been stored. 8 new individuals registered in the most recent period.
2. Since the Self-build and Custom Housebuilding Act 2015 came in, how many units have been approved as custom and self-building housing?
Planning and Housing are unable to supply this data as we do not record this information.
3. Of those detailed in No.2 above, how many of those properties were granted subject to a legal agreement (S.106 or Unilateral Undertaking) securing them as Self-Build and Custom houses?
No self-build or custom build houses have been explicitly secured within a S106 agreement.
