I am writing to you under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 to request the following information:
1. How many traffic lights are there in your local authority as of 9th January 2026?
There are 129 sites.
2. How many of these traffic lights have fixed traffic light cameras (also known as red light cameras) as of 9th January 2026?
There is one 1 red-light camera located in Wargrave at the junction with High Street, Church Street and School Lane.
3. How many cases of cars going through red lights were recorded by the cameras on the traffic lights in your local authority in each calendar year for the following years: 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025
Wokingham Borough Council do not have access to this data, this question will need to be directed to Thames Valley Police as the prosecuting agency.
4. The location of the traffic light in your local authority which recorded the most cases of cars going through red lights in 2025, as well as the total number of cases at this location.
There is 1 red-light camera in Wokingham at the junction with High Street, Church Street and School Lane in Wargrave. Wokingham Borough Council do not have access to this the number of cases, this question will need to be directed to Thames Valley Police as the prosecuting agency.
