Littering Fines
1. Do you issue fines for littering? No
2. If so, at what level do you levy fines? N/A

3. Do you use an in-house team or a private enforcement company to issue fines for littering? Our service has the ability to fine for littering, but it is not something that we routinely enforce in the manner that some Council’s do in city centre regions with discarded cigarettes etc.
4. How many Fixed Penalty Notices (FPNs) for littering did you issue in 2024/2025 (to date)? 0
5. How many Penalty Charge Notices (PCNs) for car parking did you issue in 2024/2025 (to date)? We have issued 50,813 PCN’s issued from 01/04/2024 to 15/01/2026 this includes all parking and moving traffic Penalty notices issued over this period.
Litter Bins
6. How many litter bins do you have in your council area now? 735 on street 415 in parks and open spaces
7. How many litter bins did you have 10 years ago (2014/2015)? 703 on street litter bins 2014/15, 422 in parks and open spaces
8. Have you removed any litter bins in the past 10 years, and if so, how many? 32 on street and 7 parks and open spaces
Litter Clearance Costs
9. What was your annual spending on litter clearance in 2024/2025 compared to 2014/2015? £95,930 spent on street cleansing as a total we do not hold the information for litter separately 24/25. We do not hold any information for 2014/15 relating to litter spend

10. How many people did you catch fly-tipping in 2024? More clarity is needed to answer this question.
