Taxi and Private Hire Licensing

I am requesting the following information under the Freedom of Information Act, relating to taxi (hackney carriage) and private hire vehicle (PHV) licensing in your local authority area. Please provide responses to the following, where applicable:
1. Licence Data
a) The overall number of active taxi (hackney carriage) vehicle licences, broken down by calendar year from 2020 to 2025 (as of 30/09/25).
b) The overall number of active private hire vehicle (PHV) licences, broken down by calendar year from 2020 to 2025 (as of 30/09/25).
c) The overall number of licensed drivers, ideally split between hackney carriage and PHV, broken down by calendar year from 2020 to 2025 (as of 30/09/25).
d) The overall number of licensed private hire operators (private hire companies), broken down by calendar year from 2020 to 2025 (as of 30/09/25).
2. Vehicle Details
a) The number of currently licensed vehicles by vehicle type (e.g. saloon, MPV, wheelchair accessible, etc.).
b) The number of currently licensed vehicles by age band (e.g. 0–3 years, 4–6 years, 7–9 years, 10+ years, or as held in your records).
c) The number of currently licensed vehicles by fuel type (e.g. petrol, diesel, hybrid, electric, zero-emission capable).
3. Driver Details
a) The current number of dual licence holders (drivers licensed for both hackney carriage and PHV).
b) If held, the current breakdown of licensed drivers by gender and/or age group.
4. Licence Applications and Renewals
a) The number of new licence applications received per year from 2020 to 2025 (as of 30/09/25), for both taxi and PHV licences.
b) The number of licence renewals processed per year from 2020 to 2025 (as of 30/09/25), for both taxi and PHV licences.

If possible, please provide the information in spreadsheet format (e.g. .xls or .csv). For Q1 and Q2, if data isn’t available until 30/09/25, please provide the most recent data.
