Number of potholes reported and repaired in 2022
See notes
1. I would like to request the following information;
a) The number of potholes reported in 2022
b) The number of potholes repaired in 2022
Wokingham Borough Council employs a risk-based approach to the assessment of carriageway (road) defects, as outlined in Volume 2 of the Wokingham Borough Highways Maintenance Management Plan (HMMP), available on the Wokingham Borough website at:
https://www.wokingham.gov.uk/roadworks-and-outdoor-maintenance/roadworks-and-road-maintenance/highways-maintenance-management-plan/
As a consequence of the risk-based approach, all road defects identified as requiring intervention are repaired, irrespective of whether they are described as “potholes” at the time of reporting. Accordingly, the number of road defects identified in calendar year 2022 is the same as the number repaired, and is 1873 defects.
