No complete statistics, the last 10 garages that went through the void process averaged at 6.5 months to be let

The reason for all garages become void are due to the licensee ending their licence, the licensee is deceased or the licence is ended due to rent arrears

Our policy does allow for tenants and non tenants to rent our garages, however, our tenants are given a preference. Due to the large number of applicants on our waiting list, we are currently only taking applications from tenants

At present there is only one block identified for demolition this year and that’s the last block in 50-56 Patten Ash Drive. Its due for demolition this financial year and is being turned into parking spaces. We are also looking at the Valon Road garage site but this is possibly only for general refurbishment. No decisions have been made as the works are to be costed first. Further works will be identified as and when required.

Garage management/administration is covered by a number of Housing Services staff members, there is no staff member specifically employed to work on garages alone

Garage enquiries can be via multiple platforms and to multiple teams, this is not a statistic we can provide
