Anti-social case review
The anti-social behaviour case review, previously known as the Community Trigger, is a process which allows victims and communities to ask the Community Safety Partnership to review their responses to reports of anti-social behaviour.
The anti-social case review is designed to make sure we work together to try and resolve reports about anti-social behaviour. We will do this by talking about the problem, sharing information and using our resources to try and reach an agreeable outcome.
The case review helps to make sure that no one affected by anti-social behaviour feels unheard. It will also make sure that we do everything we can to solve the problem.
Requesting an anti-social behaviour case review
A case review can be requested when:
- 3 reports have been made to either the council, police, the NHS or registered housing provider about the same issue in the last 6 months and no action has been taken
- 5 individuals have separately reported the same issue in the last 6 months and no action has been taken
An anti-social behaviour case review cannot be requested for general acts of crime, including hate crime, and does not replace the complaints procedures of individual organisations.
An anti-social behaviour case review cannot be requested with respect to reports made more than 6 months prior to the request, although these may be considered alongside more recent reports (within the last 6 months.)
A request for an anti-social behaviour case review does not guarantee that a review will take place. A local threshold is applied that requires reports made in the last six months are assessed as being:
- Valid examples of Anti-social behaviour (a review cannot be activated if the reports of ASB relate to matters that Wokingham Borough Safer Communities Partnership does not define as ASB)
- Matters relating to ASB have been reported to the Police, WBC, the NHS or a Housing provider – reports made by other routes may not be considered
- ASB currently under investigation; we will not investigate live issues, that reasonably require time to be completed and have only been made know to services for the first time in recent weeks.
For more information about what is an is not considered ASB visit the Wokingham Borough Safer Communities website.
