Have your say on the Kinship Care Local Offer
We really value the amazing journeys of our Kinship Carers.
What is the Kinship Care Local Offer?
Our Kinship Care Local Offer is a guide we’re developing to show all the help and support available in our area for children who can’t live with their parents and for the family members or friends who care for them - known as kinship carers.
The Kinship Care Local Offer will explain:
- what services you can access
- how to get support
- who to contact
Our aim is simple: to make sure every kinship family here knows what's available and feels confident asking for the support they need.
Why your voice matters
Your experiences, ideas, and stories are essential in shaping a Local Offer that truly works. They help us understand what’s going well and what could be better, so we can ensure the right support is in place for you and the children you care for. Every experience counts, and your insight will help build an Offer that reflects the real needs of kinship families in our community.
Our commitment to kinship families
The Kinship Care Local Offer is a new requirement for all councils, set out in the Children’s Wellbeing and Schools Bill currently progressing through Parliament. This means we’re committed to clearly setting out the support available for children who cannot live with their parents and for their kinship carers. We want every family to feel informed, supported, and confident in the help that’s here for them.
We’d love to hear from you!
Your thoughts, ideas, and experiences matter. Together, we can shape a Local Offer that truly supports you and the children you care for.
