Have your say on the Kinship Care Local Offer

We really value the amazing journeys of our Kinship Carers.

What is the Kinship Care Local Offer?

Our Kinship Care Local Offer is a guide we’re developing to show all the help and support available in our area for children who can’t live with their parents and for the family members or friends who care for them - known as kinship carers. It will explain what services you can access, how to get them, and who to contact. Our aim is simple: to make sure every kinship family here knows what support is available and feels confident asking for it.

Why your voice matters

We’re working hard to make our Local Offer the best it can be, and your stories and feedback are a big part of that. They help us understand what works well and what needs improving, so we can provide the right support for you and the children you care for. Every experience counts, and by sharing yours, you’ll help shape an Offer that truly meets the needs of kinship families in our community.

Our commitment to kinship families

The Kinship Care Local Offer is something new. It’s now a legal requirement for councils, set out in the Children’s Wellbeing and Schools Bill currently going through Parliament. This means we’re committed to clearly explaining the help available in our area for children who can’t live with their parents and for their carers. We want everyone to feel fully supported and clear on what support is here for them.

We’d love to hear from you!

Your thoughts, ideas, or experiences matter. Together, we can make the Local Offer truly work for you and the children you care for.
