Eligibility
Working parents
You can apply for 2 year old funded childcare support if:
- you (and your partner, if you have one) earn no more than £100,000 each
- you and your partner are in work and earn at least the National Minimum Wage or Living Wage for 16 hours a week on average
Further information about eligibility can be found on the UK Government website and covers the following situations:
- maternity, paternity or adoption leave
- sick leave or annual leave
- fostering
- starting a new job
- if one partner is working and the other has caring responsibilities or a disability
- self-employed and started your business less than 12 months ago
- If you have more than one job
Families receiving additional support
You are eligible to apply for 2 year old funded childcare support under the following circumstances.
Claiming the following benefits
- income support
- income-based jobseeker's Allowance (JSA)
- income related Employment and Support Allowance (ESA)
- Universal Credit and your household income is £15,400 a year or less after tax, not including benefit payments
- the guaranteed element of Pension Credit
Special circumstances
- are looked after by a local authority
- have an education, health and care (EHC) plan
- get Disability Living Allowance
- have left care under an adoption order, special guardianship order or a child arrangements order
Non-UK citizen who cannot claim benefits
If your immigration status says you have no recourse to public funds and your household income after tax is less than:
- £26,500 for families with one child
- £30,600 for families with two or more children
You cannot have more than £16,000 in savings or investments.
