Gorse Ride Estate regeneration

Gorse RideĀ Estate regeneration

Proposed redevelopment of Gorse Ride in Finchampstead

We're working to regenerate the Gorse Ride Estate in order to provide high-quality homes in a great community. The regeneration will take place in phases. The first phase  will be the demolition of Cockayne Court and some properties in Arnett Avenue (97 to 107 odd numbers) and 154 Barkham Ride.

Phase 1

Planning permission has been granted for 46 new homes (36 flats and 10 x 3 bed houses).

You can view the planning application via the link below:

Following a tender process, a preferred building contractor has been selected. Development started in Summer 2019 and is expected to complete in Spring 2021.

Phase 2

Read the  Gorse Ride Regeneration update on Phase 2 plans (PDF document) for information about Phase 2 on the development.

As part of the process a Compulsory Purchase Order (CPO) has been made for the Gorse Ride site.

Steering group

A steering group of council tenants and owner occupiers as well as local councillors, our staff and other community stakeholders has been set up. This group will be responsible for making sure the community is fully involved and informed as the regeneration takes place. It will represent the interests of residents and wider community affected by the development proposals and work with us to influence the overall regeneration vision for Gorse Ride:
