Under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, I request the following information regarding public health (pauper) funerals arranged by Wokingham Borough Council since 1 January 2024:

1. A list of all public health funerals arranged, with for each case:
• Name of the deceased
• Date of birth and date of death
• Last residential address
• Whether next-of-kin were traced (Yes/No)
• Whether the deceased’s estate was referred elsewhere
• Burial or cremation location, including cemetery/crematorium and geographic reference
• Confirm if family or friends were permitted to attend the funeral (Yes/No).
• Information on whether ashes were returned to any family/friends (and if so, whether a fee was charged).
• Whether any genealogical or ancestry-related organisations were contacted or supplied with the above information; if yes, provide details of those organisations.

2. The total number of public health funerals conducted during this period, and aggregate costs and cost-recovery percentage.

3. Details of who within the council holds responsibility for public health funerals (name, role, contact details).
