We're working with our partners in the Hardship Alliance to support households facing challenges due to the rising costs over the winter period. This is through our Household Support Fund.
You can only apply for one grant
Grants will be awarded to you by one organisation only. First Days Children's Charity if your child gets means-tested free school meals and Age UK Berkshire or Citizens Advice Wokingham for anyone else.
You can't apply to both organisations for support.
Money for the Household Support Fund comes direct from Government. When we have given all the funding out, applications will close.
If your child gets means-tested free school meals
You can get £15 per week, per eligible child, during school holidays. This applies for half terms, Christmas and Easter holidays.
The amount you get in total depends on the number of children in your family who get free school meals:
- One child - £120
- Two children - £210
- Three children - £315
- Four children - £420
- Five children - £525
- Six children - £630
You can see a full breakdown of payments for each holiday on the First Days website.
If you did not apply for October half-term, you will get a back payment. Apply through First Days Children's Charity.
Or apply for a voucher for food, energy bills and other essentials
Support is available to households who feel they are struggling with rising costs of living as well as people in receipt of benefits. Our partners can provide £120 with a food, fuel or cash voucher.
