We are investigating how solar PV waste moves through the waste system, in line with DEFRA's consultation on solar waste. We are particularly interested in solar PV panels (WEEE Category 14) received at your Household Waste Recycling Centres, which are treated as household WEEE under the WEEE Regulations. Please provide the following information for all HWRC sites you operate. If you do not hold information for any item, please confirm that it is not held:

1. All information you hold on which categories of WEEE are accepted at your HWRCs.
These are the categories of WEEE we accept via the HWRC, as per our Environmental Permit:
a. 16 02 15* - hazardous components removed from discarded equipment
b. 16 02 16 - components removed from discarded equipment other than those mentioned in 16 02 15
c. 20 01 23* - discarded equipment containing chlorofluorocarbons
d. 20 01 35* - discarded electrical and electronic equipment other than those mentioned in 20 01 21 and 20 01 23 containing hazardous components
e. 20 01 36 - discarded electrical and electronic equipment other than those mentioned in 20 01 21, 20 01 23 and 20 01 35

2. All information you hold on quantities of solar PV waste (WEEE Category 14) received at your HWRCs, including any available historical data on annual volumes since your records began (in tonnes and/or number of panels/units, whichever you hold).
We are not permitted to accept Solar PV Waste via the HWRC

3. For solar PV waste (Category 14) received at your HWRCs:
a) Your process for separation, storage, and onward transfer.
b) Whether it is combined with Small Mixed WEEE or handled separately.
c) The name(s) of the contractor(s) or recycling company/companies that currently process it.
d) Any written procedures, contracts, transfer arrangements, or guidance documents relating to the above.
