Spending on Court of Protection
See notes
1. The total amount spent by your council on Court of Protection welfare proceedings where ‘P’ (the subject of proceedings/protected party) was an adult with learning disabilities and/or autism in 2025, including in-house legal costs, legal fees for external lawyers and expert witnesses)
We do not report on this, it has been deemed that it would exceed the cost of compliance (Section 12) to answer this question. This is due to the number of client files identified as opened in 2025 (85 files) which would then need to be reviewed to check CoP welfare proceedings where 'P' was an adult with learning disabilities and/or autism; also, there may be additional files to review that were opened before 2025 but were still ongoing in 2025.
