Asbestos Waste Handling

1. Your written policy and procedure governing the acceptance, handling, and disposal of asbestos-containing materials (ACM) or products suspected to contain asbestos.

2. The method you recommend of disposal, which could be:
a) Waste disposal facility: This has to be a licenced asbestos facility. Residents can take asbestos to the HWRC.
b) Council contracted removal; Do no undertake.
c) Self disposal by residents: Residents can take asbestos to the HWRC’s. The amount of waste accepted for free in a single visit will be as follows:
• up to 100 litres of rubble, soil, plasterboard, gravel wood chippings or asbestos or one bulky sanitary ware item no larger than 2000mm x 750mm x700mm in size (the approximate size of a bathtub).
