Electric Charging Infrastructure

I am writing to you under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 to request the following information relating to electric charging infrastructure in your constituency. In particular, are you able to provide me with:
1. Number of public charging points installed in total to date?
In total, there are 415 public chargepoints across the borough, according to the latest data from Zapmap. Of these, 99 are owned and operated by the Council and 44 are operated by Opcharge who currently hold a contract with WBC.
2. How many of those chargers are classed as On-Street Residential Chargepoints?
All 44 chargepoints operated by Opcharge are located in residential streets and public car parks. Of these, 38 were funded through the On Street Residential Chargepoint Scheme.
3. How many additional chargepoints estimated to install in current fiscal or calendar year?
TBC. Our commercialisation team is currently reviewing plans for the future EVI rollout.
4. How many of those are classed as On-Street Residential Chargepoints?

5. Do you have a published strategy for On-Street Residential Charging Infrastructure?
We have an EV Charging Strategy that was adopted in January 2025. A copy can be found on the My Journey website: https://www.myjourneywokingham.com/car-travel/electric-vehicles/. The strategy includes an analysis of off street parking availability and the demand for public EVI.
6. Do you have a dedicated Policy Officer (or equivalent) for EV charging infrastructure?
There is an officer within the Transport team leading on the ORCS and LEVI schemes, while a Utilities Project Officer is responsible for the chargepoints owned and operated by the Council.
7. Have you applied for the Local Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (LEVI) Fund yet? If yes, have you been successful?
