Urgent issues

If you're reporting an urgent issue that requires immediate attention, call:  

  • 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday, 0118 974 6000 and select the 'highways' option 
  • 5pm to 9am Monday to Friday, 0800 212 111  weekends and public holidays

An urgent issue is defined as something that is very likely to present an imminent threat to life or serious injury or serious damage to property. We aim to respond to urgent issues within 2 hours.

Report potholes, road and kerb damage

To report potholes, road and kerb damage you'll need:

  • The location of the damage
  • A brief description of the problem

To make the report, select the location on the map: 

Report a pothole or road damage

To report multiple potholes you'll need to create a report for each one. We aim to respond to non-urgent reports within 28 days.

How we deal with pothole reports

We won't ignore any reports. However, we have adopted a risk-based approach to determine whether to take action and what action to take. 

The level of risk from a pothole depends on: 

  • Depth 
  • Surface area
  • Safety of road users 
  • Location and usage of the road

To track an existing report

On the map, select 'track a fault' and enter your reference number.
