Schools and education - Accept a place at an infant or primary school

It is the duty of your home local authority to ensure that your child received an education. If you are making alternative arrangements for your child you must inform us.
To ensure your child has a school place for September 2022, it is recommended that you accept this offer. If you are appealing for an alternative school, the appeal process will not be affected by accepting this school place offer.
Please discuss further with the Headteacher if you wish to accept a place on a part-time basis and later wish to change to full-time or to discuss what part-time options may be available.

Deferring (or delaying) your child's school place

A parent may defer their child’s school place until the child reaches statutory school age provided the child starts in the same school year.

Deferring means delaying your child’s entry to the school and remaining eligible for the 15 hours free entitlement at an early years setting.
Your decision to defer must be confirmed with the Headteacher prior to the start of the school year.

Your child must attend school full-time the term after your child’s fifth birthday (statutory school age).

If you decide to defer the offer of the school place until September 2023, read the statement below and tick the box to say you've understood.
I understand that should I decide to defer the offer of a school place for my child until the term after my child's 5th birthday (September 2022) that I will need to apply again for a year one place for September 2023. I note that, by deferring to statutory school age in September 2023 that a place may not be available at my preferred school/s

Waiting lists

If you choose to go on the waiting list and a school you ranked higher than the school you were offered becomes available, the current offer will be withdrawn automatically (and allocated to the next child on the waiting list if applicable) and the higher ranked school place will be allocated to you.

Please indicate below whether you wish your child to remain on the waiting list of any higher ranked preferred schools. If this is not completed; it will be assumed that you wish to do so. It is your responsibility to ensure that we are kept up to date on whether your child is to remain on a waiting list, but we will send periodic reminders.
