Details of consultation

Wokingham Borough Council has today announced the launch of a five week consultation that will help shape its new voluntary sector strategy.

The consultation, which is being carried out in partnership with local charity Involve, is seeking feedback from both those who lead voluntary and community groups as well as residents across the borough that are supported by them.

The council’s consultation with key stakeholders will help to deliver a co-produced strategy which gives opportunities for transformation within the sector and looks at how to commission the sector for the next five years.

The council are looking to deliver a strategy that has vulnerable residents at its heart, which brings the voluntary and community sector together and maximises their potential. The council is focused on connecting people, places and services in the community to enable people to live healthy, active and independent lives for as long as possible.

There will be a series of themed workshops throughout the consultation with the first titled ‘Communities and Neighbourhoods’ being held on Thursday 24 October, 1pm, at the council offices at Shute End.  Places are limited and can be booked by emailing Matt White, Commissioning Manager Voluntary Sector Strategy at matt.white@wokingham.gov.uk

Details of the other upcoming workshops will be provided via the Involve newsletter which you can sign up to via their website.
