- Your child is between 9 and 16, their nearest available school is more than 3 miles away by a safe walking route and they attend a designated area school or the nearest school

Suggested walking routes
Go to the My Journey website to see a suggested walking route to school (with distance).
Please note that this may not be a safe walking route. Parents and carers are advised to make their own assessment of safety, before a child’s initial walk to school.
Distances are measured to the school site, not to the nearest entrance, as used in assessments of eligibility for free transport to school.
