Concessions for blind or partially sighted people
Customers who are blind or partially sighted receive the following concessions:
- Free CD and cassette loans
- Half price DVD loans
- No charge for overdue items
Other concessions
The following groups of people pay half the relevant charge on overdue items apart from overdue DVDs where full charges still apply:
- Looked-after children and teenagers
- Students (over 18 in full time education)
- People registered disabled
- People receiving benefits
Concessionary group charges for CDs and cassettes
- CDs 1 to 6 discs - £1.40
- CDs 7 plus discs - £1.40
- Cassettes 1 to 2 tapes - £0.70
- Cassettes 3 to 6 tapes - £0.70
- Cassettes 7 plus tapes - £1.40
Documents required for concessions
To make sure of your concession we'll want to see one of the following documents. Once we've seen it once we'll update your membership record for the future:
- Registered disabled - disabled parking badge or doctor's letter
- Aged over 18 and in full-time education - letter from course manager or admissions tutor confirming full-time status
- Blind / partially sighted - Doctor's letter
- Receiving unemployment benefit or income support - official letter from Benefits Agency
