Free broadband for jobseekers

If you are out of work, you may be able to get 6 months’ worth of free broadband from TalkTalk, who are working with Central Government and Jobcentre Plus to support jobseekers.

To check if you’re eligible, please speak to your Jobcentre Plus work coach in the first instance. If you are eligible, you will be given a referral code to give to TalkTalk. No contract or credit checks are required.

Organisations that can help you

There are a number of other organisations that can help you in your search to find suitable work.

Our Supported Employment Service can help you if you’re struggling to get a job / training, or to stay in / return to work. This could be because you have:

  • A physical or learning disability
  • Mental health issues
  • A long-term health condition
  • An acquired brain injury
  • Sensory impairment
  • Substance misuse issues

All these are all covered by the Equality Act 2010 and mean you’re entitled to extra support.

The team can provide one-to-one coaching on a range of topics, including employment skills, CV support, gaining work experience, volunteering and education.

To get started, fill in the enquiry form on the Optalis website, or phone the team on 0118 977 8600, or email employmentservice@optalis.org.

The Elevate Team provides information, advice and guidance to 16-18 year olds in the borough, who are not in education, employment or training (and young people aged up to 24 with special education needs and disabilities).

They can help with career planning, education, jobs, apprenticeships, training opportunities, work experience and volunteering.
