Money to help with food, bills, energy costs and other essentials
A new round for support through the Household Support Fund will open in early April. If you've applied for or received support since October 2023, you will now be able to apply again.
The support will again help people who are struggling to pay for food, energy bills and other household essentials.
Help with household bills
- Help with water bills
- Help with grants for energy debts
- Help with cheaper broadband
Pre-payment meters
For those on some pre-payment energy meters, the government energy support grant is not automatically applied.
If this is the case, you will receive redeemable vouchers, sent by SMS text, email or post. These vouchers must be redeemed within three months of being sent.
We know that thousands of pounds in Energy Bill Support vouchers are yet to be claimed from the governments energy bills support scheme. Make sure you redeem the financial support you are entitled to.
If you're vulnerable
Register for priority services with your water or gas suppliers in case services are interrupted this winter. It means you'll get extra help or priority if there are disruptions such as power cuts.
Vulnerable usually includes people who get their pension, have young children, are disabled, are pregnant or have a long-term medical condition.
